C'est évidemment un tiers stratégique de Smogon. L'UnderUsed signifie "sous-utilisés" en anglais. En outre, dès qu'un pokémon est en dessous de 3% dans les usages, il passe UnderUsed. S'il s'avère trop fort pour ce tiers, il est banni et entre dans le Border Line. Les pokémons le comportant sont bons, mais en OverUsed, il existe des pokémons pouvant effectuer les mêmes rôles de manière plus efficace. Ce tiers a été créé pour que les joueurs puissent utiliser ces pokémons sans déséquilibre.
Au niveau des règles, les clauses de Smogon évidemment (species clause, OHKO clause, endless battle clause, Moody, evasion clause, Freeze clause, sleep clause...) mais le Baton Pass et la capacité spéciale Crachin sont bannis de ce tiers.
